What is APEDA Registration?
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is a statutory body established under the APEDA Act, 1985, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. APEDA is headquartered in New Delhi with regional offices across major cities.
APEDA Registration is mandatory for every exporter of scheduled products — including fresh fruits and vegetables, processed foods, cereals, meat, poultry, dairy, floriculture, and many other agricultural commodities — before they can legally export from India.
Beyond mandatory compliance, APEDA registration unlocks a rich ecosystem of financial assistance, market development support, trade fair participation, laboratory testing subsidies, and organic certification assistance — making it a powerful tool for agricultural exporters seeking to grow their international business.
Good News for Exporters: APEDA Registration has no government fee and the entire process is now 100% online through the APEDA portal. Registration is valid for 5 years and can be renewed online. Financial assistance under MDA and ASIDE schemes is available only to APEDA-registered exporters. Register now →
